The Covered Bridge Bicycle Tour is a one-day ride on the backroads of Linn County, in Oregon's central Willamette Valley. Participants select from 23, 44, 68, 85, or 100 miles, accommodating newer cyclists, steady recreational riders, and those aiming for a full century. The Mid-Valley Bicycle Club organizes this event, which has been a fixture on the local cycling calendar since the late 1970s.
The routes traverse open farm fields and gentle hills, with minimal traffic-light interruptions compared to urban rides. Depending on the distance chosen, cyclists cross up to five historic covered bridges, lending the tour its name and distinct local character. Rest stops, food, and SAG support are provided throughout the day, with a traditional root beer float served at the finish line. A portion of each entry fee supports Bicycle Education & Safety programs, contributing to local cycling initiatives.
