The Crystal River Triathlon begins at Fort Island Gulf Beach in Crystal River, Florida. The first wave starts Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. The primary event is a sprint triathlon: a quarter-mile swim, a 12-mile bike ride, and a 3-mile run. This format suits athletes seeking a concise multisport competition over an extended race day.
The series offers alternative race formats at the same location. Duathletes begin with a 1-mile run, followed by the 12-mile bike and 3-mile run. Aquabike competitors complete a quarter-mile swim, a 12-mile ride, and then proceed to the finish. The participant field is diverse, including age-group competition alongside categories for Athena, Clydesdale, Fat Tire, Military/LEO/PSO, Novice, Adaptive, and relay teams. Packet pickup is at the race site on Saturday morning; a USAT card and photo ID are necessary. All finishers receive a custom medal.
