East Canyon Triathlon starts athletes at East Canyon Marina, heading toward Morgan City, with bike legs designed for unusually fast splits. The race takes place in Morgan Valley and offers Sprint and Olympic distances. The Olympic race begins in the morning, followed shortly by the Sprint race. It is a point-to-point triathlon with two transition areas: the swim and T1 are at East Canyon North Marina, while T2 and the finish are at Riverside Park in Morgan City.
The Sprint bike course is downhill and quick. The Olympic bike course includes two short climbs before the fast descent into Morgan City. Both races conclude with a run along the Weber River and through local neighborhoods. Race morning requires attention to logistics: athletes park near Morgan High School, leave run gear at Riverside Park, and take shuttles to the swim start, but bikes must be dropped at the marina separately. The event is in its 12th edition, and organizers have marked past anniversaries with cake.
