Laguna Madre Splash and Dash

The Laguna Madre Splash and Dash is a youth aquathlon in Port Isabel, Texas, held at the Port Isabel Derry pool on 3rd Street. It is for children ages 7 to 16, beginning at 8:00 AM CDT and concluding by 10:00 AM, fitting the event into a single morning. Younger participants, ages 7 to 10, complete a 100-meter swim followed by a 1000-meter run. Older participants, ages 11 to 16, swim 200 meters and run 1500 meters. The age categories are 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-16. The run course is within a closed neighborhood, avoiding open traffic roads. The entry fee is $15, positioning it as a local youth event rather than a large-scale production.
