Lost Trail Bike Fest & Shuttle Extravaganza is a weekend mountain bike gathering held at Lost Trail Pass Ski Area near Sula, Montana. Camping is available at the ski area base, with Saturday shuttle service running from 10am to 4pm. This event is more of a supported backcountry riding weekend than a traditional race. Participants purchase access to shuttle-served trails, camp together, and conclude Saturday with dinner, music, and raffles.
The primary riding takes place on high-alpine trails surrounding Lost Trail Pass, featuring extensive backcountry shuttle rides on the Warm Springs Trails. Advanced riders can select from six challenging trails with rocks, roots, and technical elements. Intermediate riders have a more relaxed out-and-back route on the Continental Divide Trail at Chief Joseph Pass, located across the highway. Sunday is open for self-guided rides. Helmets are mandatory, and the event operates under a special use permit within the Bitterroot National Forest. Bitterroot Backcountry Cyclists organizes the event, which also accommodates non-riding family or friends with youth and adult dinner-only tickets.
