The Ozark Valley Triathlon is a two-day race weekend in June held in Northwest Arkansas, featuring road, gravel, and mountain bike options. The primary road triathlon is offered in international and sprint distances. The international race includes a 1,000-yard swim, a 19-mile bike leg, and a 4-mile run. The sprint race consists of a 400-yard swim, a 13-mile bike leg, and a 2-mile run. Participants can also opt for an international aquabike, an international duathlon, or a team entry, meaning the weekend accommodates more than just solo swim-bike-run competitors.
The off-road events define the series' scope. Gravel racers complete a 400-yard swim, a 12-mile bike ride, and a 3-mile run. Gravel duathletes run 2 miles, followed by the same 12-mile bike course and a 3-mile run. Mountain bike races feature a shorter 8-mile bike leg, combined with either a 400-yard swim or a 2-mile opening run, concluding with a 3-mile run. The OVT also holds significant status within Arkansas, hosting state championship races for both international and sprint triathlon, the Arkansas High School State Championship, and a joint club competition.
