The Run for Hope in Oklahoma City is a Saturday morning 5K run/walk and memorial mile. It is built around remembering people who lost their lives to addiction. This is the third annual edition of the race series, with a family-focused setup rather than a runners-only feel. The day includes a one-mile memorial walk/run, a 5K, and a virtual option for people who want to participate from somewhere else.
The event is hosted by the Finding Hope and Hope After Loss Support Groups, which serve more than 800 members across the United States and are free to attend. Proceeds fund those support groups. Race morning includes registration, announcements, a group photo, merchandise, a DJ, food trucks, inflatables, and time for fellowship. The memorial aspect of the event sits alongside a community gathering for families affected by addiction and grief.
