The Salt City Mile is a one-mile race in Salt Lake City, run on the closed SLC Crit course at INDUSTRY SLC. It is organized by the Salt Lake City Track Club with SLC Crit. The mile starts in the morning after bib pickup. This is the event's seventh annual edition, featuring professional chip timing, a low entry fee, and prize money for open and masters runners.
The course uses a criterium racing circuit, providing runners a short, closed-road setup more often used for bike racing than road miles. Children 14 and under can enter cheaply, making the race accessible to families as well as competitive runners. The mile is part of a larger day that includes a 5K, a Grand Fondo bike race, crit racing, live music, and a beer garden, encouraging many to stay after the run rather than leaving at the finish.
