Sofia's Hope Reason to Run 5K 2026

Sofia's Hope Reason to Run 5K is a run-or-walk event held near Miami in the Deering Estate area. The in-person race takes place in early November, with a virtual option available from late October through early November. Now in its 19th year, the event supports Sofia's Hope, a nonprofit dedicated to childhood cancer. It functions as a race, fundraiser, and family gathering, not solely a competitive running event. The route guides participants through the Deering Estate area before leading them to a Family Festival overlooking Biscayne Bay. This festival includes food, drinks, music, activities, prizes for top fundraisers, and a photo wall. Approximately a few hundred participants are anticipated. The first 425 individuals, whether participating in person or virtually, will receive an official medal and shirt. Virtual participants can complete their 5K from any location within the event window and will have their items mailed afterward. Participants have the option to start individual or team fundraisers, with a $100 fundraising total earning a refunded registration fee. Local childhood cancer warriors and their families are invited as guests and are eligible for free registration.
