The Aden Perry Hero Event 5k is a chipped, timed run/walk held at FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida, beginning at 7:30 AM. It commemorates Aden Perry, a Carnegie Hero Award recipient, and generates funds via the Aden Perry Good Samaritan and Scholarship Fund. All event proceeds support students and their academic requirements.
The course is a simple 5k loop around the arena grounds, open to both runners and walkers. Participants may attend a pre-race stretch led by Yoga Factory & Fitness. They will receive long-sleeve race shirts and custom finisher medals. Following the race, attendees can enjoy a waffle breakfast, raffles, and a silent auction. The event also gathers school supplies for students; bringing supplies grants a raffle ticket. Awards are presented to the top overall finishers and age-group winners. The first-place overall runner in the 15-19 age group earns a college scholarship, honoring Ethan Lawrence, an elite runner who won the inaugural Aden Perry Hero Event. The fund has provided SAT prep, book, and testing-fee scholarships, donated school supplies to over 1,000 students, supported the Western Robotics Club, established local school college/job prep spaces, created reading corners, and initiated a life ring program for waterways.
