The Charleston Winter Series

The Charleston Winter Series is a three-race winter fundraiser in Charleston, West Virginia. Each race begins at 2 PM from the UC Pharmacy School Parking Lot on MacCorkle Avenue. The series offers runners a 5K, 8K, and 10K on separate Sundays. Walkers have matching shorter options of 3K, 4K, and 5K. Proceeds support Charleston Parks and Recreation youth programs, with the entry fee tied directly to local recreation rather than just race-day costs. The series is built around finishing all three events; complete the full run or walk series and you earn the hoodie. Students receive a much lower full-series price and can earn the same hoodie, while individual race entries are available without it. Age-group winners receive medals, with divisions from kids 10 and under through 80-plus. Live registration opens one hour before each race for those who decide close to start time.
