The WoodChippr Gravel Fondo is a gravel ride based out of Fargo, North Dakota, with three distance options planned between about 30 and 130 miles. It is scheduled for the fall, and the exact routes are released closer to ride day. Riders need a helmet, and lights are recommended because the roads stay open to regular traffic.
The short route is signed, while riders on any distance can use a RideWith સા GPS cue sheet, bike computer, or phone once the routes are published. The event is self-supported, so the longer routes rely on small-town stops for convenience-store food, drinks, and some water. The area is hillier than many riders may expect near Fargo, and the gravel can ride slow, so extra water and food matter. Flatlands Cycling, a 501(c)(3) club, runs the event to continue the local gravel tradition after the retired END-CHIP event.
