Lake Nokomis Main Beach in Minneapolis hosts the YWCA Minneapolis Women's Triathlon, an annual swim-bike-run event for women. It is designed for women and girls of all ages, backgrounds, and experience levels, with a beginner-friendly setup and a supportive atmosphere.
The race takes place at Lake Nokomis, starting from the beach. Participants race, train, volunteer, support family members, or meet a personal challenge, with first-timers and experienced athletes sharing the same finish line. Its strongest tradition is the community: mothers, daughters, sisters, friends, teammates, and spectators supporting women as they test their physical and mental limits.
