Informazioni su questa gara
e2h10k is a trail ultrarace held in Calw-Altburg, located in the northern Black Forest. The start and finish are situated at the sports field. The name translates to “every 2 hours 10 kilometers”: participants begin a 10 km trail loop, return within two hours, and then re-enter the queue for the subsequent loop. The complete race consists of 10 loops covering 100 km, with an alternative 5-loop option for 50 km. Each loop features approximately 320 meters of elevation gain, meaning the full distance presents a demanding day of continuous ascents rather than a straightforward point-to-point run.
The course predominantly follows trails and hiking paths, with minimal sections of asphalt. This format emphasizes pacing as much as physical conditioning. Participants who exceed the two-hour limit or do not start the next loop are disqualified, contributing to the reported dropout rates exceeding fifty percent of the field. The event is designed for seasoned long-distance runners, featuring a restricted number of participants and fostering a sense of community over a large-scale city marathon atmosphere. Runners completing all 10 loops are awarded a notably large medal, a suitable reward for a race where maintaining participation is the primary objective.
