Informazioni su questa gara
The Allgäu Panorama Marathon, held in Sonthofen within Germany's Allgäu region, offers a weekend of running events for adults and children. The primary marathon spans 42.2 km with approximately 1,500 meters of ascent. An ultra marathon extends to 69 km and 3,200 meters of climbing. Participants can also opt for a half marathon featuring 140 meters of elevation gain, the 18 km Hörnerlauf with 1,111 meters of climbing, a 5 km race, or a Kids-Run. Established in 2007, the event typically attracts a few thousand participants, distinct from large city marathons.
The marathon course lives up to its name during the extended ascent over the Hörnergruppe. Here, brief flat stretches offer brief respites before further climbs. The route offers views toward the Oberstdorf mountains, and in the final kilometers, it opens up towards the Grünten, a peak known as the guardian of the Allgäu. The day's events commence with the ultra early in the morning, followed sequentially by the marathon, Hörnerlauf, half marathon, 5 km, and the children's race. Christian and Axel direct the event, and entry numbers are capped by distance to manage the growth of the runner festival in Sonthofen.
