Bremen's running and cycling scene centers on flat terrain along the Weser River, with the Bremer Roland Radmarathon (205km) being the flagship long-distance ride that loops through northern Germany's moorland and farmland. Local cyclists also tackle the RTF/CTF Bremer Schlüssel (164km) and Die ich mag's dreckig Tour (74km) for weekend challenges across the featureless North German Plain. The city itself is canal-laced and pancake-flat, making it ideal for base training, though serious hill work requires heading 80km+ south toward the Weser Uplands.
