Eroica Germania 2026

Eroica Germania begins and ends in Eltville-Erbach, located in the Rheingau wine region along the Rhine River. This event is the German iteration of the Italian L'Eroica concept, featuring a vintage cycling ride rather than a contemporary road race. Participants must use bicycles manufactured before 1987. The event takes place in August and has been a fixture on the German cycling schedule since 2018. The routes traverse vineyards, Rhine-side villages, paved roads, and unpaved gravel sections. Cyclists can choose from routes of approximately 41 km, 77 km, and 130 km. The longest route presents a demanding day, covering around 122-130 km with over 2,000 meters of elevation gain, complemented by three aid stations. Adherence to the Eroica ethos is central: participants ride vintage steel-framed bicycles, embracing the dust, climbs, local wine, live music, a vintage bicycle style competition, and a marketplace for classic bikes and components.
