Sauerland-Höhenflug-Trailrun 2026

The Sauerland-Höhenflug-Trailrun begins and ends at the Mega-Sports-Center in Sundern-Hagen, located in the Sauerland region of North Rhine-Westphalia. This yearly trail running event takes place on the second weekend in June. It offers 5 km, 10 km, and half marathon distances, alongside a distinct school cross-country race for students. The courses follow the Sauerland-Höhenflug area near Sundern-Hagen, featuring diverse trails with a significant emphasis on nature, distinct from urban road races. Younger students compete on a course just under 1 km, while older students run 1.7 km. The Volksbank Sauerland covers their entry fees, allowing schoolchildren to race without charge and receive certificates and medals. Participants' times are recorded using a chip integrated into their start numbers, and the event awards wooden trophies.
