Every entry fee for Carrera Niños sin Cáncer supports childhood cancer research. The event takes place in Parque Juan Carlos I in Madrid, with the main program beginning in the morning and including races for children and adults. It is not a timed event, and there are no rankings, winners, or losers; the objective is to raise funds and increase visibility for childhood cancer research.
Adults can select Nordic walking over 5 km or running over 5 km or 10 km, with the route choice made when collecting the bib before the start. The 5 km and 10 km races begin and end at the same location, while the children’s races commence with a toddler category. Fundación OC, also known as Oscar Contigo, organizes the day. The park program includes live music, children’s activities, face painting, temporary tattoos, and artistic and sports exhibitions, allowing families to remain after the running.
