Cross Mixto de Zarautz

Cross Mixto de Zarautz is an 8 km mixed-pair cross race held in Zarautz in December. Each team is made up of one man and one woman, and the two runners have to reach the finish line together, so it is a partner race rather than two separate individual runs. The race starts near the Aritzbatalde sports center, with the field leaving in the morning. Registration can pass 700 pairs, though bad weather forecasts can thin the actual start list, and the front end is quick: the winning pair has reached the finish in under half an hour. Local runners have been prominent, including Zarautz pair June Agirrezabalaga and Aritz Arregi, while the podium has also included family teams such as siblings Nerea and Iñaki Murua from Altzo.
