Karabel Krosa

Karabel Krosa is a 9-kilometer cross-country race held in the Karabel neighborhood of Hernani. The field is small, with the source race having 58 finishers (45 men, 13 women), suggesting it functions more as a local competition for serious runners than a large city event. The route passes the cider houses, crosses the Elorrabi bridge, and features the short, steep climb up Garbigune. Xabi Sánchez Elorza won, having also won in Alsasua the previous Sunday. Ekhi Congil and Asier Goikoetxea finished behind him; Goikoetxea has middle-distance credentials, with personal bests of 3:51.27 for 1500 meters and 1:54.66 for 800 meters. Eider Alonso was the first woman, followed by Eider Estibariz and Naiara Casi. The men's top five also included previous podium finishers Eñaut Lasarte and Ibai Alba.
