Tonttukisat is a junior indoor athletics competition, recognized at the district level, taking place in December at Kupittaan Urheiluhalli in Turku. Turun Weikot Yleisurheilu is the organizer, and the event focuses on track and field disciplines suitable for young athletes: short sprints, hurdles, middle-distance races, jumps, high jump, and shot put. The competition includes age groups from under-9 to under-15. The youngest participants compete in 40m or 60m sprints, while older age groups, such as the under-13s, can enter events like the 800m and 60m hurdles. The name Tonttukisat, meaning 'elf games', imbues the meet with a distinct Christmas-season atmosphere. Its district-awarded status confirms its integration within the local athletics framework, distinguishing it from a mere club practice.
