Epopee Royale is a November gravel running race series held in Blois, France, within the Loir-et-Cher department. It is presented as France’s first true gravel running event, with races positioned between road running and trail running, not fitting neatly into either. The event offers races from 500 m up to a 126 km ultra, accommodating short-distance runners, long-distance runners, and relay teams.
The courses feature a varied mix of paths around Blois, designed with moderate climbing for their distances. The 13 km route includes 130 m of elevation gain, and the 126 km option has 850 m, beginning before sunrise. Intermediate distances include 29 km, 55 km, and 75 km races. The 126 km can be completed solo or as a relay. Shorter formats, the 500 m, 1.5 km, and 3 km races, complement the programme focused on gravel and ultra distances.
