Informazioni su questa gara
Gent-Wevelgem is a long one-day road race in Belgium, covering approximately 240 to 250 km from the coast or West Flanders towards Wevelgem. It carries the subtitle “In Flanders Fields.” Although the finish is flat, the day is designed to wear down fast riders before they reach it.
The route may start in locations like Middelkerke or Ieper and concludes in Wevelgem, with sprinters remaining central to the narrative. That flat run-in does not guarantee an easy sprint finish: Gent-Wevelgem is known as one of the most difficult races a sprinter can win, and recent editions have favored strong riders like Mads Pedersen.
