The Kilomètre Vertical du Criou, known as the KMV de l'UTHG, is a vertical kilometer race held in Samoëns, France. Participants begin in the village center at Place du Gros Tilleul. The race commences at 8:00 AM, with individual staggered starts every 20 seconds rather than a mass start.
The race format is straightforward and demanding: ascend quickly, one runner at a time. A helmet is mandatory from the start to the finish line. The list of registered runners and their assigned start times is released two days prior to the event. The benchmark times are precise: Christel Dewalle set the women's record at 37:00, and Damien Humbert holds the men's record at 32:56.
