La Course du Chicon is a flat running event held in Baisieux, a village in northern France. The course winds through the village and the surrounding countryside. The race's name originates from 'chicon,' the local term for endive, a theme the event embraces more directly than many food-related races.
Upon finishing, participants receive endive soup instead of the typical post-race refreshments. The organizers share a soup recipe designed for 1,200 servings, requiring 200 kg of endives, onions, leeks, potatoes, water, cream, salt, and pepper. Practical arrangements include online registration only, online results publication, a refreshment stand, and complimentary guarded bag storage for runners.
