Les Pieds dans l'Buru is a late-February trail event in La Cropte, offering timed trail, hiking, and Nordic walking routes. Its most challenging format is the Ultime Time Master (UTM), which involves runners completing repeated trail loops. The initial loop must be finished within an hour, with each subsequent loop having a progressively shorter time limit. Starts are staggered hourly, and the race continues to narrow its focus until only one participant remains.
The main UTM format is considered unique in France by its organizers, with over 150 runners anticipated and a goal of exceeding 100 km. The broader event attracts hundreds of participants for its timed trail races, including 11 km and 15 km options. The final UTM loop may require the use of headlamps. Additional competitions award a pink leader's jersey and a blue jersey for the fastest runners. Graines d'enfants organizes the event to promote awareness of egg donation, allocating approximately one-third of profits to Endofrance, an association combating endometriosis. UTM registration includes a meal, and the day concludes with an evening gathering organized by the event staff.
