The Trail de Bonneville starts and finishes at the Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville in Bonneville, France, with race day centered in town. This is the event's second edition, featuring a straightforward format: a single certified 21 km race with 1000 meters of elevation gain. Runner entries are limited to 400, with mixed categories. Registration initially prioritizes French Athletics Federation license holders before opening to all.
The course begins with one kilometer through town before transitioning to paths and trails on the western side of Le Môle. Much of the running takes place on hillside terrain, passing locations like the Bois des Tours, Col du Reray, Col de Saint-Jean, Côte d'Hyot, and La Chaffardière. The final two kilometers guide runners back into the urban area, concluding at the town-center finish.
