Informazioni su questa gara
The Trail du Vieil-Armand is a late-winter trail race held in Wuenheim, Haut-Rhin, France, on the Alsace side of the Vosges mountains. Participants can select from three distances: La Printanière, 8.5 km with 170 m elevation gain; the Trail Découverte, approximately 15 km with 500 m gain; and the primary 25 km Trail du Vieil-Armand, featuring 1100 m of climbing. The longest race holds a UTMB Index 20K designation, attracting runners seeking a validated mountain-trail challenge alongside local competitors aiming for a demanding race near their homes.
All three courses commence together before diverging. The shortest route follows the Wuenheim stream on a gradual incline, then merges with a shared path through pine forest before concluding through vineyards. The longer courses venture into the Hartmannswillerkopf massif, within the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges. These paths traverse terrain marked by World War I trenches and significant historical conflict. Additionally, the event includes an "Elle et Lui" race for teams of two, requiring partners to finish holding hands.
