Informazioni su questa gara
The Drop Kendal begins with participants surrendering phones, watches, maps, and electronic aids. They are then blindfolded and transported by bus to a secret location near Kendal. This is a self-navigated race across the Cumbrian countryside, offering 6, 10, and 15-mile options. These distances are measured as straight-line drops, not the actual distance covered on foot. Upon removal of the blindfold, the objective is straightforward: return to the event centre using your own judgment.
No marked course, GPS track, map, or compass is provided, and no directions are given. The 15-mile option is the original and most challenging, while the 10-mile version adheres to the same rules and pressure in a reduced distance. Participants can enter individually or as a team. The race may involve running, walking, problem-solving, backtracking, or selecting the most feasible path, be it road, trail, or town route, back to HQ. Its military-style organization distinguishes it from typical trail races, as the primary challenge lies in maintaining composure when disoriented, rather than speed over a defined course.
