The Moray Marathon 2027

The Moray Marathon is a spring road marathon in northern Scotland, starting and finishing in Elgin and organized by Chilled Running. It debuted in April 2024, featuring an all-road course along the Moray coast, qualifying as a marathon route. The event also offers the Chilled 20 Mile Race, a measured, flat road race introduced after the marathon began. Both events are Scottish Athletics approved, utilize chip timing, and are restricted to participants aged 18 and older. The marathon is designed for runners seeking a fast spring road course in North and East Scotland, with organizers maintaining controlled field sizes to ensure adequate support. The 20-mile race merges with the marathon route at 6.2 miles, allowing both groups to share the final stretch into Elgin. The race course is not closed to traffic, and strict regulations prohibit buggies, pets, wheelchairs, standard headphones, race-day entries, bib transfers, or deferrals. Participants receive medals and Buffs, with basic refreshments available at the finish. Cash prizes are awarded for new marathon course records.
