Informazioni su questa gara
The PSS Imperial Palace Kenko Running series offers affordable morning races at Tokyo’s Imperial Palace, featuring 5 km, 10 km, 20 km, and 20 km relay distances. Solo race entry is 1,000 yen, and the relay is 4,000 yen. Runners often use this event for practical training rather than a major destination race. Registration is located near the clock tower at Sakuradamon, with all races starting and finishing at the same point. The event accommodates beginners and mixed levels, offering 100 spots for each solo race and 25 for the relay. Races are canceled in rain or snow, with entries rolling over indefinitely instead of receiving refunds.
The course consists of laps around the Imperial Palace, allowing runners to monitor pace and split times effectively. It is considered good value for long-distance practice, pace training, and assessing fitness before larger events. The organizer emphasizes flexibility, accepting late arrivals, allowing same-day entry, and permitting distance changes on race day. Runners who stop early will have their completed distance recorded instead of a DNF. They even accommodate improvised distances, like a 15 km option, as all participants are intended to receive a certificate, typically via email. Participation awards include a sports drink, an izakaya meal voucher, and a magnetic chip.
