Borredalen Rundt

Borredalen Rundt is a small running event in Fredrikstadmarka, Norway, with a tradition dating back to 1962. The standard race is a short circuit of approximately 5.6 km around Borredalsvannet, with a shared evening start at 18:30. It is not a large-scale road race: typical participant numbers are around 40 to 50 runners, and the results often resemble a local club event where regulars, first-time participants, and visiting recreational runners all start together. The course encircles the lake, making the name literal: participants run “round Borredalen.” The series includes multiple races annually, and records document both the victors and enduring personal narratives, such as participants extending their consecutive race streaks and runners achieving personal bests. Quick finishers typically complete the lap in about 20 minutes, while the event also acknowledges top women, new participants, and consistent age-group competitors, not solely focusing on the leading runners.
