Straumemila is a Norwegian race day featuring 5 km and 10 km runs, with the main races beginning in the morning following a brief group warm-up. The event, now in its 20th edition, takes place in late May. Changing rooms and the race office open prior to the first start. The 5 km and 10 km fields are seeded, starting with the fastest runners to ensure orderly early racing and provide clear space for quicker participants.
The program includes more than just the two main distances. Following the 5 km and 10 km awards, the day proceeds with a mixed relay, the BS Vest Draumemila and Sport 1 tour class, and the Sparebanken Norge Barnemila for children in grades 1-4 and 5-7. Pallemila is included if conditions permit. Later awards are for the non-senior races, with some prizes drawn by start number and posted by the stage for pickup on race day.
