Cambridge running is dominated by the flat Fens — the Gog Magog Downs 5 miles south offer the only real hills within 30km. The city's canal towpaths and river routes are fast and popular, though serious marathoners travel to nearby races for proper courses. Cycling here is dead flat and perfect for speed work; the Team MK TT Series events at Nash and Whaddon (17-18km loops) draw riders from the region, though most local cyclists use the Fens' ruler-straight back roads for high-cadence training and time-trials.
