Bagel Run 5K/10K/13.1
Haunted 5K, 10K, & 13.1M at Hudson, FL (42)
The Haunted 5K, 10K, and Half Marathon in Hudson, Florida, is a morning road race series offering three distances, beginning at 8:00 AM. All runners must register via RunSignup prior to race day, as there is no on-site registration. Packet pickup is available 30 minutes before the start and concludes 10 minutes before the race, located at the shelter in the Splash Pad area behind the Aquatic Center.
All three races feature a repeated out-and-back course format. The 5K completes the out-and-back loop twice, the 10K completes it four times, and the half marathon uses a longer out-and-back course six times. The event has a 3-hour and 30-minute time limit, a factor primarily for half marathon participants on the six-repeat course.
Haunted 5K, 10K & 13.1M at Largo, FL (43)
The Haunted 5K, 10K & Half Marathon in Largo, Florida, begins at 1800 Keene Road. All three races start in the morning. This is a US Road Running event. Advance registration is required through RunSignup only. Runners must sign up before race day and pick up their packets shortly before the start.
The 5K and 10K follow an identical out-and-back course. The 5K covers the route once, while the 10K covers it twice. The half marathon is also an out-and-back course, repeated four times. It has a 3 hour 30 minute time limit. A staff member will be stationed at the turnaround point to ensure participants are heading in the correct direction. All finishers will receive medals. Awards will be presented, and costumes are encouraged. The race also contributes to US Road Running series points.
Florida Halloween Distance Classic
The Florida Halloween Distance Classic takes place at Fort De Soto Park on Florida's Gulf coast, a short drive from downtown St. Petersburg. Participants can select a half marathon, 10K, or 5K, with early starts on a fast, flat road course. Costumes are encouraged but not required, and a costume contest with prizes is part of the event, accommodating both runners aiming for fast times and those in creative Halloween attire.
All three races begin and end at North Beach within Fort De Soto Park. The course is an out-and-back route along park roads and trails through wooded areas, proceeding towards the island's southern tip and its easternmost point. Runners will encounter sections with white-sand beaches and water views, and minimal vehicle traffic allows for an open course time limit. The half marathon follows the same path as the Florida Beach Halfathon, and previous years have seen over a thousand finishers across all race distances.
St. Pete Run Fest
6th Annual Veterans Run
The Veterans Run starts and finishes at Ben T. Davis Park in Tampa, using the paved trail on the south side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway for all distances. Runners may select a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or 15.5-mile race; the 5K and half marathon also offer virtual participation. The event focuses on honoring and supporting America’s veterans, with certified timing for all in-person distances, accommodating both those seeking a personal best and those participating for the cause.
All in-person courses are out-and-back routes along the Causeway, with Tampa Bay alongside the trail for most of the run. The longer races include the route’s notable Florida feature: a climb to a locally high point offering an overlook across the bay. Only the 15.5-mile race covers the Causeway’s full length. The race resumed after a two-year hiatus due to hurricane damage and city restrictions. The setup includes aid stations with water and electrolyte drinks, plus additional nutrition for half marathon and 15.5-mile runners.
Gobbler 5K, 10K, 13.1M & 26.2M at Largo, FL (46)
The Largo Gobbler is a November running race held at 1800 Keene Rd in Largo, Florida. It offers 5K, 10K, half marathon, and marathon distances, all beginning at 8:30 AM. This event is part of the US Road Running series, known for its themed races like Luau, Pirate, Medal Madness, and Viking. Registration must be completed via RunSignup prior to race day, as there is no on-site sign-up. Packet pickup is available only in the 30 minutes before the start.
The courses consist of simple out-and-back loops. The 5K involves one loop, the 10K two, the half marathon four, and the marathon eight. A six-hour time limit accommodates walkers and slower runners for shorter distances. Marathon participants must maintain a consistent pace on this very repetitive course. This event follows US Road Running’s family-friendly format, featuring distinct race themes, logos, and finisher medals. This marks edition 46 of the race.

The Gobbler 5K, 10K, & 13.1M is a multi-distance road race in Largo, Florida. The race starts at 8:30 AM from 1800 Keene Road. Participants select a 5K, 10K, or half marathon. The 5K and 10K courses are identical out-and-back routes. 5K participants run the course once, and 10K participants run it twice. St. Petersburg Distance Classic
The St. Petersburg Distance Classic begins at North Shore Park in St. Petersburg, Florida, offering marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and virtual race options. Held in February on flat waterfront roads, the marathon serves as a Boston Marathon qualifier. Though relatively new, the event attracts thousands of participants, with recent reports indicating just under 3,500 runners across all distances.
The course winds through waterfront sections and historic St. Pete neighborhoods known for their artistic character, featuring live musicians along the route. Participants travel from across the United States and internationally, creating a diverse field of local residents, traveling marathoners, club runners, and those opting for shorter races. The race was founded and is managed from home by Chris and Rya Lauber; Chris also has experience organizing jet ski races in Florida and previously established the Gulf Beaches Marathon. Post-race, participants can enjoy a gathering with hot food, cold beer, a breakfast bar, and live music.
2027 Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic
The Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic is a Tampa Bay race weekend featuring multiple running and walking events. Participants can select from a half marathon, 15K, 8K, or 5K. Walkers and families have options including a 5K walk and 5K stroller races. Michelob Ultra challenges are available for those wishing to complete multiple distances during the weekend.
The event supports local charities, with race entries benefiting youth organizations throughout the Tampa Bay area. Since 1978, the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association has contributed $3.9 million to organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa, Girls Inc. of Pinellas, The Friends of Tampa Parks & Recreation, and youth running programs. The event also attracts competitive runners, offering prize money across races and categories exceeding $40,000.
Florida Shamrock Distance Classic
The Florida Shamrock Distance Classic begins all its races at 7 a.m. in historic Fort De Soto Park, located south of St. Petersburg on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Participants can select a half marathon, 10K, 5K, or Leprechaun Mile, accommodating those seeking a longer run, a shorter race, or a family-friendly mile. This March event carries a St. Patrick’s theme, featuring flat, fast courses without hills or trail sections.
The park itself is a primary attraction, providing a coastal setting for the race while ensuring the routes support consistent pacing and personal-best efforts. The participant count is anticipated to range from 1,000 to 5,000, positioning it as a sizable event without the scale of a major city marathon. Following the races, the awards ceremony embraces the Shamrock theme with shamrocks, green beer, and live music.
