C'è l'Utica Ugly Sweater 5K, una gara su strada a dicembre che parte e arriva da Pizza Boy's a New York Mills, vicino a Utica. I partecipanti possono scegliere tra Team Santa o Team Grinch, e c'è anche la possibilità di partecipare virtualmente per chi non può venire di persona. La gara in presenza è limitata a 300 partecipanti, quindi sembra più una festa di paese per le vacanze che un evento da grande città. Ai runner danno una maglia a maniche lunghe personalizzata e la medaglia da finisher. Chi fa la Yeti Walk (i camminatori) riceve anche un cappellino invernale e una medaglia.
