Auggie's 5K Run & Walk begins at Warwood Middle School in Wheeling, West Virginia. Both runners and walkers start at 9:00 a.m. The event includes a 5K run-and-walk division and a walk-only division. Its established format benefits the Ohio County Animal Shelter.
The route follows Wheeling's Heritage Trail along the Ohio River. Separate out-and-back courses are used: runners go north on the paved trail, and walkers go south. The course is flat and fast. Post-race refreshments, door prizes, tech shirts with original artwork for early registrants, and custom medallions for top overall and age-group finishers are provided.
