Beast of the East 100 2026

The Beast of the East 100 takes runners through the entire trail network of Crowders Mountain, located near Kings Mountain, North Carolina, close to Charlotte. This December trail race features ultra distances, primarily the 100-miler, with additional shorter distances like the 100K, 50-mile, marathon, or 25-mile, varying by edition. The 100-miler is designed for those seeking a demanding mountain challenge lasting a day and night, with a cutoff time in the low-30-hour range. The shorter races also have strict time limits. The course begins at the Wolf’s Den aid station and crosses trails including Fern, Turnback, Pinnacle, Ridgeline, Boulders, and Crowders. Participants will ascend to the Pinnacle Mountain Summit, pass aid stations such as 161 and Boulders, and ultimately traverse both primary peaks of Crowders Mountain. Those who finish receive distinctive buckles or medals, reflecting the race's direct character. While this event is a local trail gathering for the Charlotte area, it demands significant effort from participants for every mile completed.
