Burke Day For Life 5K and Fun Run

The Burke Day For Life 5K and Fun Run begins and ends at Burkemont Baptist Church in Burke County, North Carolina. The event offers a 5K run/walk and a one-mile fun run/walk. It takes place in the fall, marking the start of the Burke Day For Life community day, which is organized by the Pregnancy Care Center of Burke County and includes music, food, and activities for various ages. The 5K route winds through countryside at the base of Burkemont Mountain, passing Double E Farms. This allows runners to see a working farm directly, instead of only neighborhood streets. Double E Farms features beef cattle, lambs, corn fields, and a pumpkin patch. Following the race, participants may visit Briarpatch Mercantile for local breads and cheeses. A Burke Day for Life T-shirt is also included with the event.
