The Coach Mike Slinskey Memorial 5k is a trail race held at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, New York. The main 5k begins at 9:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning in November. A virtual 5k and a free 1-mile kids' race for runners 12 and under, starting at 9:15 a.m., are also part of the day's events.
Grass Roots Running and the Mid-Hudson Road Runners Club organize this event to honor Mike Slinskey, a local Hudson Valley running figure with strong ties to the area’s running community. Following the 5k, participants can opt for the "Slinskey Surprise," a 400-meter sprint designed to challenge grit and leg speed after the trail race.
