Eastside Turkey Trot 5K

The Eastside Turkey Trot 5K is a Thanksgiving Day race and walk held at the Eastern Community YMCA on Pickle Road in Oregon, Ohio. The 5K begins and ends at the YMCA, utilizing a fast road course on city streets with a water station provided. The race is chip timed with online results, and the walk is non-competitive, accommodating both those seeking a personal best and those simply exercising before the holiday meal. The event embraces the Thanksgiving theme straightforwardly. The first male and female finishers at the one-mile mark receive turkeys, provided they complete the full race. Awards are presented to overall, masters, grand masters, and age-group finishers, with age categories ranging from under ten to eighty and above. A costume contest is also featured, including a turkey look-alike category, alongside fruit, baked goods, sports drink, and an awards ceremony post-race.
