Informazioni su questa gara
The Giving Thanks for a Cure 5k is a flat cross-country race held at Honey Ridge Road in Guyton, Georgia. It begins at 8 a.m. EST and is designed as a family-friendly event, accommodating walkers, new runners, club runners, and faster racers together. The race generates funds for CURE Childhood Cancer, with all proceeds directed to the foundation; previous events have contributed over $3,000 to the cause in a single year.
The course consists of a double loop, allowing participants to gauge their effort and see familiar landmarks twice. Runners begin near the YMCA Pool, proceed towards Wiley's Furniture, cross railroad tracks, and traverse a wooded area before completing the loop. Effingham County Middle School serves as the host and sponsor, and the event offers practical amenities such as free parking, restrooms, finisher medals, race shirts (as available), and a hot chocolate bar post-run.
