Green Lake Kids Triathlon 2026

The Green Lake Kids Triathlon is a youth event for ages 3 to 12, held at Saulsbury Beach on Green Lake in Spicer, Minnesota. It takes place on the Saturday of a family triathlon weekend, preceding the adult triathlon on Sunday. The children's race begins in the morning and is organized by the Willmar Aquatic Racing Stingrays. Proceeds from the race and donations benefit the youth swim team and competitive swimming in the region. Most participants swim in chest-deep water near the public beach. The Elite Heat involves swimming around buoys in Green Lake. Younger age groups bike and run within the parking lot. Older children cycle and run on open roads with traffic control, featuring posted distances and a marked course. Life jackets are permitted. All finishers receive a medal and a goodie bag. The top three finishers in each age group are awarded an additional medal after the event concludes.
