Informazioni su questa gara
The "Ditch Witch" Run is an annual autumn race held in Albuquerque, New Mexico, starting at 6440 Coors Blvd. NW. Participants can select a 10K, 5K, a youth 5K for those 17 and under, a Kids K for those 11 and under, or a virtual option. The in-person races commence in the late afternoon, with the Kids K starting after the longer races, accommodating both adult runners and families.
The course winds through the Bosque, following Albuquerque's North Valley ditches and canals. The theme is drawn from La Llorona, the Weeping Woman from Hispanic American and New Mexico folklore, who is said to weep while seeking her lost children along riverbanks and ditch edges. The race incorporates this local ghost story, even cautioning runners they might see her on the path. Participants receive a shirt and finisher medal, with water and Powerade provided on the course, disposable bib-tag timing, complimentary photo downloads, age-group and overall awards, and a finish table stocked with refreshments.
