Reindeer Run 5k

The Reindeer Run 5K is a December holiday run with two distinct versions: one around Lake Harriet in Minneapolis and another through downtown Charleston, South Carolina. Minneapolis offers 10K and 15K distances around the lake, while Charleston maintains its primary format as a family-friendly 5K run/walk, including registration for children aged 5 to 16. The Minneapolis event has been a fixture in Minnesota running since 1987, featuring costumed participants, opportunities for photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Rudolph, event shirts, finisher medals, and age-group awards. The Charleston race attracts over 3,500 participants and includes a costume contest with categories for adults, children, groups, and dogs. It raises funds for MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, supporting its neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric cancer floor, and pediatric heart center.
