Informazioni su questa gara
The Run The Ridge Trail Race begins and ends at the Bill Monroe Homeplace in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Participants can choose from 5K, 10K, and 25K distances, all commencing in the morning. This trail race crosses the Kentucky hills, incorporating dirt roads and ridge overlooks connected to Bill Monroe, the Father of Bluegrass Music, and his Uncle Pen. The terrain is challenging, featuring ascents to the ridge followed by descents, with steep inclines and declines present in all race distances.
The course is not the sole focus of the day. Bluegrass music is integral to the event, with live performances along the route. The race coincides with Bill Monroe Foundation events, including Pickin' on the Porch and Camping and Jamming. A band performs live on the Homeplace porch on Saturday evening, and bluegrass musicians and campers frequently convene for jam sessions around campfires throughout the weekend. Runners have access to complimentary primitive camping or can opt for paid electric camping spots. All participants who finish will receive a medal, and awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each distance.
