Shamong Turkey Trot

The Shamong Turkey Trot awards Thanksgiving pies to its top male and female 5K finishers, setting the event's tone. This local November race in Shamong, New Jersey, features a chip-timed 5K Run and a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk, both starting at Indian Mills Memorial School. Morning check-in is followed by a group warm-up before the 5K begins from the school parking lot. The 5K course departs the Indian Mills Memorial School parking lot, proceeding along Old Indian Mills Road, Grassy Lake, Stokes Road, and Oakshade before returning to the parking lot for the finish. Live results are available online, and medals are presented to participants in age groups ranging from 14 and under to 70+. The 1 Mile event commences shortly after the 5K, utilizing five laps of a circular driveway. Participants in the 1 Mile event collect a popsicle stick each lap to track their progress.
