The Shelton Stampede 4th of July Run is a community race in Shelton, offering a USATF-certified 5K and a 1-mile race. This marks its 17th year. Check-in and same-day registration occur early in the morning. The 1-mile race starts first, with the 5K beginning half an hour later. Walk-up entries are accepted, accommodating both late deciders and those who register in advance.
The 5K features a competitive structure, awarding trophies to the top three overall male and female finishers, and medals to age-group winners from 19-and-under to 60-plus. The 1-mile race provides medals for younger and older participants, with specific awards for 10-and-under, 11-14, and 15-and-over age groups. Common Ground Coffee is present on race day. Each registrant receives a free raffle entry, with additional tickets available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Shelton Cross Country and Track & Field program.
