The Steele Creek Struggle is a 13.1-mile trail half marathon held at Steele Creek Park in Bristol, Tennessee. It begins at the Civitan Shelter at 9 a.m. The course features technical single track with roots, rocks, narrow switchbacks, creek crossings, steep climbs, and fast descents within the half-marathon distance.
The route ascends over 2,000 feet, crossing rocky forest paths and ridge lines through Appalachian woodland, requiring runners to maintain awareness of their footing. It is not designed for beginners and is suited for those prepared for rugged, unpredictable terrain over a smooth road race. The park is home to white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and potentially bear. Proceeds from the race support trail improvements at Steele Creek Park.
